TitleTHE EFFECT OF DIFFERENT CONCENTRATIONS OF CITROSEPT (CITAMANI) ON THE GROWTH OF ASCOSPHAERA APIS STRAINS
AutorPaweł Chorbiński, Agnieszka Wójcik
Pages5–12
KeywordsCitrosept, Ascosphaera apis, bioflawonoids, Vitamin C
AbstractShow abstract
The aim of this study was to determine the sensitivity of strains of Ascosphaera apis to different concentrations of the Citrosept (Citamani) in laboratory conditions. The study was carried out on Sabouraud medium, using the cylinders dilutions method (by Butti). In the experiment the 0.1, 0.2, 0.4, 0.8, 1, 2, 4 and 8% concentration of Citrosept were used. Determination MIC (minimal inhibitor concentration) and MFC (minimal fungicidal concentrations) were performed on 7th day of experience. The mean value of MIC for the strains used in the experiment was 1,18 ml of Citrosept’s (0.232% content of bioflavonoids and 11.80 mg of vitamin C) per 100 ml medium, while the value of MFC for these strains was 7.20 ml Citrosept (1.42% bioflavonoids and vitamin C 72.00 mg) per 100 ml of medium. Citrosept showed significant growth inhibitory effects of A. apis and can be potential used in the prevention and control a chalkbrood disease of honeybees.

TitlePROBIOTICS IN PETS
AutorEdyta Wincewicz
Pages13–24
Keywordsprobiotics, dog, cat, pet nutrition
AbstractShow abstract
The functioning of the digestive system and its condition are extremely important for overall health of pets. Stimulates intestinal ecosystem undisturbed animal’s immune system, protects dogs and cats against pathogens and provide adequate nutrients. Proper nutrition is therefore one of the prerequisites for proper homeostasis of the organism. Too broad use of antibiotics and their side effects resulted in large interest in using probiotics for prophylactic and therapeutic. Supplementing rations with appropriate species of bacteria with probiotic properties certified, allows you to maintain homeostasis in the gastrointestinal tract of the animal, increasing tolerance to adverse environmental stimuli, helps digestion and increases the digestibility of feed ingredients, and for the use of antibiotics for treatment accelerates the recovery period.

TitleVARIATION IN THE BRANCHES OF AORTIC ARCH IN WILD RABBIT (ORYCTOLAGUS CUNICULUS L. 1758)
AutorWitold Brudnicki, Ryszard Jabłoński, Włodzimierz Nowicki, Benedykt Skoczylas, Jan Wach
Pages25–34
Keywordsaortic arch, wild rabbit
AbstractShow abstract
The research involved 34 individuals of wild rabbit (Oryctolagus cuniculus L. 1758): 22 males and 12 females. From the aortic arch there descended two or three vessels. In 64.7% cases these were: the brachiocephalic artery and left subclavian artery and in 35.3% cases the aortic arch gave rise to the brachiocephalic artery, left common carotid artery and left subclavian artery. There were observed cases (11.1%) of the descent from the trunk for right common carotid artery and the right subclavian artery, thyroid cranial artery.
