TitleTHE INFLUENCE OF FREEZE-DRYING PROCESS ON THE SELECTED MECHANICAL PROPERTIES OF MUSHROOMS
AutorKrzysztof Banasik, Ryszard Kramkowski, Bogdan Stępień
Pages5–12
Keywordsfreeze-drying, mushrooms, mechanical properties
AbstractShow abstract
The investigations of compression and cutting work of dried material obtained in result of freeze-drying process of mushrooms are presented. The freezing of raw material was carried out at 0,5°C min rate up to the temperature of -20°C. The freeze-drying process was performed with the application of heat supply both by radiation as well as by contact way. The temperature of heating plate were 0, 20, 40°C at constant pressure of 25 Pa. The changes in mushrooms cubicles in effect of drying process were evaluated by the compresion of fresh material and the dried material subjected to rehydration. It has been stated that during the freeze-drying process, significant changes in the examined mechanical properties take place.

TitleMOISTURE TRANSPORT DURING THE STORAGE OF SEED IN SILO. PART I. THE MODEL OF MOISTURE TRANSPORT IN BED
AutorKlaudiusz Jałoszyński, Eugeniusz Kamiński, Ryszard Kramkowski, Marian Szarycz
Pages13–21
Keywordswheat silo, moisture transport, transport components
AbstractShow abstract
The analysis of moisture transport bed stored in silo has been presented. The models of the transport in the bed in different silo zone have been proposed. The zones different in terms of moisture transport mechanism have been distingushed. It was stated that the key factor deciding of wetting and drying the wheat in silo is a twenty-four and one-year cycle of temperature change.

TitleMOISTURE TRANSPORT DURING THE STORAGE OF SEED IN SILO. PART II. INVESTIGATION OF MASS TRANSPORT BETWEEN THE GRAINS WITH DIFFERENT WATER CONTENT
AutorKlaudiusz Jałoszyński, Eugeniusz Kamiński, Ryszard Kramkowski, Marian Szarycz
Pages23–30
Keywordswheat silo, moisture transport, transport component
AbstractShow abstract
The structure and function of a test plant for measuring of convection and contact components during the moisture transport between the grains with different water content have been presented. The studies of change in moisture versus time for sorbate and sorbent were carried out. The process of moisture transport was described with expotential equations with assumption of symetry during the wetting and drying process. The prevailing role of contact moisture transport between the grains with different moisture has been proved.

TitleVERIFICATION OF MATHEMATICAL MODEL OF THE FIRST CONVECTION PERIOD IN APPLE DRYING WITH REGARD TO DEHYDRATION SHRINKAGE
AutorRenata Bochyńska, Helena Lisowa, Roland Zawiślak
Pages31–39
Keywordsapples, drying, forced convection, mathematical model
AbstractShow abstract
The mathematical model of the first drying period with regard to dehydration shrinkage was verified in the water (moisture) content interval from u0 = 5,50 kg H2O·kg-1 of dry matter to u=3,14 kg H2O·kg-1 of dry matter, that is, in the range of relative humidity of 85–76%, with the error not exceeding 2,4%. Moisture (water) content measurements were carried out during the drying process, as well as of the changes in apple ring (slice) volume. The apple rings were dried at the temperature of 55°C, at the air flow velocity of 0,5 m·s-1.

TitleINVESTIGATIONS ON APPLICATION THE PHOTOVOLTAIC CELLS IN THE AGRICULTURE AND AGRO-ALIMENTARY INDUSTRY. PART I – THEORETICAL BASIS
AutorMarek Adamiec, Izabela Kuna-Broniowska, Marek Kuna-Broniowski
Pages41–51
Keywordsphotovoltaic cell, electrolyser, hydrogen
AbstractShow abstract
The paper describe new possibilities the application of the photovoltaic cells in agriculture and agro-alimentary industry, obtained by their use to produce the hydrogen by electrolyze. The principal condition of the high efficiency of the process, is fitting the photovoltaic cell with the electrolyser. In the paper are presented mathematics models of the elektrolyser and photovoltaic cell and also the simulation their mutually fitting. The optimal condition of the fitting were established. It permit to obtain the maximal efficiency of the all process of the transformation the solar energy into the energy stocked into hydrogen fuel.

TitleINCREASING THE EFFICIENCY OF BIOLOGICAL OUT-WORKS OF EARTH STRUCTURES DAMMING UP THE WATER
AutorDanuta Augustyn, Benon Samol, Leon A. Stanny, Jan Szumiec
Pages53–74
Keywordsponds, biological out-works of dams, anti-erosion mixtures of grasses
AbstractShow abstract
The studies compared the anti-erosion usefulness of four grass mixtures, darnel and independently formed vegetation for biological out-works of pond dams. The effects of a number of agricultural treatments were also estimated. The examined mixtures, especially those containing white clover, showed good anti-erosion properties, better than the monoculture of darnel and much better than the independently formed vegetation. Both the sowing after the cultivation of the dam and undersowing of the degraded vegetation of the dam proved to be effective. After the undersowing, no growth of white clover was observed. The use of moisture absorbent neither increased the humidity of the soil nor improved the growth of the grasses. Single mowing after ear formation proved to be a positive treatment. The best condition of the plants on the plots that were not mown was observed on those that were sown with mixtures containing white clover.

TitleINFLUENCE OF MAGNETIC AND ELECTRIC FIELDS ON SEEDS. GERMINATION OF SELECTED CULTIVATED PLANTS
AutorStanisław Pietruszewski
Pages75–81
Keywordsplant seeds, magnetic field, electric field, seeds biostimulation, logistic curve
AbstractShow abstract
The influence of magnetic and electric field on seeds germination are presented. Seeds of winter wheat germinated in alterneting (35 and 50 mT) and stationary (100 and 185 mT) magnetic field. The seeds of cabbate germinated in stationary magnetic field 70, 120 and 210 mT. Hawaver, the onion seeds germinated in magnetic field 40 and 80 mT. Weak qualitirave of tomato seeds were biostimulated by electric field 5 and 10 kV·cm-1 and later germinated in Petri dishes. All processes of germination was described by the help equation of logistic curve.

TitleTECHNICS OF ASSISTANCE TOMATO SEEDS GERMINATION USED ELECTRIC FIELD AND MODEL THIS PROCESS WITH THE HELP OF LOGISTIC CURVE
AutorKrzysztof Kornarzyński, Stanisław Pietruszewski
Pages83–88
Keywordselectric field, logistic curve, germination speed, germination capacity
AbstractShow abstract
In this paper the influence of presowing electric field treatment on tomato seeds Halicz cultivar was presented. The strong influences of this field on germination energy was observed. The electric field increased about five time the germination energy of seeds. The germination process of tomato seeds by logistic curve was described.
