The object of the paper are elastic plates, periodically reinforced in two directions. For that kind of bodies, averaging models were constructed with the use of homogenization with micro-local parameters, characterized by equals with constant coefficients. This model was used in the analysis of dynamic problems of reinforced plates. In my paper the effect of reinforcement of the material on the displacement and the involuntary vibration level of that structures is presented.

The article presents the results of oedometer test (IL – incremental loading) and consolidation test (CL – continuous loading) on the examples of sandy and clayey organic mud, which were made to estimate the coefficient of consolidation (cv). According to Leonards and Girault classification, the different types of consolidation curve were analyzed. The results of cv from three methods were compared. The coefficients of consolidation from IL test were determined by Taylor and “quasi-constans section” method, however cv were determined from CL test by Dobak’s method which is related with pore water pressure parameter CCL and relative time of consolidation TCL.
This paper presents the results of studies on crushing phenomena during the Proctor compaction test on Recycled Concrete Aggregate (RCA). Increase in demand for materials in road construction industry creates the need for new materials which can replace natural aggregates (NA). Moreover, it should be noted that NA are a non-renewable resource in opposite to, for example RCA which could be recycled and become a part of road construction. There are many material properties, which need to be clarified and crushing phenomenon is one of them. The following article analyses the issue of crushing. Selected blends which differs by gradation curves were tested. Tests have been made according to Proctor’s method in various moisture conditions. The paper ends with final remarks for practical application of the RCA.
The woven geotextiles are materials used for soil reinforcement and separation. Their selection should take into account the tensile strength necessary for the planned effect of strengthening the ground, as well as strain appropriate to the expected degree of subsidence and conditions of installation this material. The paper presents the research’s methodology and results of analyses obtained from laboratory tests of tensile strength of the two samples of polypropylene geotextiles woven used for soil reinforcement in the forming solid of remedial landfill. The aim of the research was to determinate tensile strength and deformation at temperatures from 20°C to 80°C. The results obtained allowed assessment of this parameters and allowed verification of the effectiveness of applied materials. Also compared research results to parameters derived from information provided by the manufacturer.
An appropriate evaluation of dynamic soil properties is important for proper seismic response analysis and soil modelling programs. The primary aim of this study was to investigate the dynamic properties of clayey soil from Warsaw area, taking into consideration some of the selected factors affecting the shear modulus (G) and the damping ratio (D) of examined samples. A series of resonant column tests were conducted to study the effect of applied pressure and shear strain amplitude on soil stiffness and its damping properties. These parameters were reviewed, investigated and discussed. On the basis of the results obtained from these tests as well as the theoretical analysis, it can be established that confining pressure and the range of considered strain had a significant influence on the dynamic shear modulus and on the dynamic damping ratio. The impact of stress level on D is also discussed.

A street garden cafe is a place temporarily separated in space roadway or sidewalk. It includes equipment such as tables, chairs, umbrellas, menu stands, flowerbeds and other decorative elements. City street are a place where vegetation should be particularly appreciated. New species of plants that grow well even in very difficult conditions should be searched for. New technology should be used in addition to the common and proven ones. The décor of the garden should be planned in an appropriate style accepted by a specific city and matching the character of a district or surrounding buildings. Many studies have confirmed that the places decorated with living plants are more often and with higher pleasure visited by consumers. These small spaces are not only the value of nature, but they also are the places of social and cultural interest. The device also visually attractive and functional garden café space is a challenge, which is measured more and more architects and projects to outsource this type of cafes, restaurants, hotels, office buildings and resorts.
