The project from the indicative list entitled Scienti-1279;c and Educational Centre of the Faculty of Engineering and Environmental Science – “Water Centre” of the Warsaw University of Life Sciences is being implemented within the scope of Action 13.1 priority XIII of the Operational Programme Infrastructure and Environment for 2007-2013. The general aim of the Project is to improve the quality of education on the Faculty, which will support the University in its educational and scienti-1279;c and research activity, as well as in in-1278;uencing the economy through the transfer of knowledge. Scienti-1279;c and Educational Centre of the Faculty of Engineering and Environmental Science – “Water Centre” of the Warsaw University of Life Sciences is located at the main university campus in Warsaw, in Ursynów district. There are 19 laboratories in the building, equipped with state-of-the-art scienti-1279;c and research equipment. An educational establishment called the Water Park is situated in the area around the Scienti-1279;c and Educational Centre. It is comprised by a model of a watercourse connected with trophic reservoirs, with its outlet in the ultimate water reservoir. The Water Centre will be made accessible to the -1279;rst students and scienti-1279;c and educational personnel at the beginning of the 2010/2011 academic year.

Abstract
Show abstract
Results of calculations of the natural period of steel columns, determined using formulas developed in the -1279;rst part of this paper, are presented for selected examples. Results concern columns in form of frustum of cone, special case of a tube shaped like a cone and frustum of regular pyramid. Results of calculations were compared with calculations according to the PN-77/B-02011 standard and calculations by the computer program ANSYS.
bridged construction, space girder, construction reinforcement
Abstract
Show abstract
A bridged construction consisted with concrete plate connected with space girder in nodes of its lower bars is considered in this paper. The construction is clamed in distance of 30 m. The effect of various reinforcement of construction part is analyzed. The solution is obtained with help of -1279;nite element method using program Cosmos.

Abstract

The paper presents solutions of beams with changeable rigidity. The -1279;nite-difference method was used for calculations. The way of construction of matrixes of displaced equation systems was presented. A solution for several static schemes of changeable rigidity beams loaded with mass and temperature gradient between bottom and upper plane of beams was given. Matrixes with their coef-1279;cients of general designations make it possible to get solutions for beams of the same static schemes but different rigidities.

Abstract

The paper presents the concept of an ecological dwelling house, which uni-1279; es in itself the modern features and the past ones. The building has been localized in the southern Mazovia, so this region served as a source of patterns of the regional architecture. There has been used the actual state of knowledge about building materials and the best of these materials – from the ecological point of view – have been chosen. The technical building equipment, initially proposed, also draws on the most modern ecological solutions.
