The paper describes a results of investigation carried out on model of dam in order to recognize and compare process of scouring below of the tired construction with outflow over and above gate. Investigations were conducted for four intensity of flow and used one kind of sand in eroded area in downstream. In results of analyses show that depths of scour are smaller for outflow above gate. Distance of occurrence maximum depth of scour from end of protection was larger for outflow over gate. Key words: storage structure, local scour, turbulence of stream

Results of research of the coefficients of local resistance in PVC knees and three-way-pipes were introduced in the article. Research, were carried out on the measuring stand built in the laboratory. Measurements were made for fittings about the angle of 90° inclination, produced by two producers, PVC fittings. Research of the coefficients of local resistance were carried out in beloveds randomly, three knees and three three-way-pipes. Determined coefficients of local resistance of research, they compared with coeffi cients of local resistance determined according to the applying PN-76-M-34034 norm.

The time taken for a pollutant to migrate from the potential source (landfi ll site) to the groundwater reservoir is one of the main criteria in evaluating groundwater hazards. This process depends on the lithology and thickness of the deposits forming the basement of the landfill site as well as on the depth to the groundwater table, infiltration and the concentration of effl uents. The paper focuses on the analysis of the influence of particular factors on the transport of pollution, based on field analyses and numeric modeling. The problem was solved in example of municipal waste landfill “Lipiny Stare”.

In this paper data describing extent of financial investments in Poland was shown, as well as intention to underscore most important reasons triggering increase of planned investment cost in addition to real outcomes / costs. Exemplification of studies carried out in other countries it was pointed out that this process is characteristic not only to national investments, but occurs in most engineering objects realized all over the world alike. In subsequent part of article attention was centered on investment process barriers which now appear in our country and refer mostly to legislation and administrational activity.

This article deals with characteristics of technical and social infrastructure in the commune of Wyszków in Mazowieckie Voivodship and the EU requirements in connection therewith. The research which has been done in the commune of Wyszków has shown that with respect to transport the EU directives are not carried out, the commune authorities focus on road network development, on its modernisation, they do not provide proper traffic security. With respect to education the commune of Wyszków has not introduced the UE standards concerning improvement of system of education and vocational training. In the field of public health the institutions acting in the commune do not plan in the near future to implement the EU programme which pertains to public health between 2003 and 2008.
