TitleAnalysis of Time series for Accuracy Estimation of GPS Kinematic MetHods
AutorLadislav Bárta
Pages3–13
Keywordsreal-time kinematic method, simulation of measurements, stationary time series
AbstractShow abstract
Mathematic model for statistical interpretation of continuous record of kinematic data is presented in this paper. Rover antenna is positioned over the point – static positioning of antenna. It means that stored coordinates in the time epochs we can interpret as stationary time series. To each record are assigned additional information such as number and configuration of satellites, estimations of horizontal and vertical accuracy, breaks in radio transmission and others. Paper is focused to simulation of real field measurements based on above mentioned data files. From results of the analysis optimal technology of measurements is determined i.e. optimal length of observation on point, optimal number of measurements on the point and first of all minimum time interval between two measurements on the point. Experimental measurements of stationary time series were situated to the area of Kralický Sněž ník. There was used kinematic method in real time – RTK. Time series have length of 24 hours. Mountain environment and high difference between end points of baseline have direct influence on accuracy of this observation technique. There are expected different results in comparison to similar baselines obtained in flat regions.

TitleA GENETIC ALGORITHM HOW TO SOLVE A PUZZLE AND ITS USING IN CARTOGRAPHY
AutorDalibor Bartoněk
Pages15–23
KeywordsGenetic algorithm, cluster analysis, shape, fragments, shape boundary, string code, optimization, fitness function, cartograms
AbstractShow abstract
Genetic algorithms represent an up-to-date method of process optimization, where other solutions have failed or haven’t given any satisfactory results. One of these processes is puzzle solving, where fragments have to be placed into the defined shape in such a way so that no fragment should mutually overlay and the whole shape area will be filled with all of these fragments. A genetic algorithm solving this task including an exact formulation and a definition of the initial conditions based on cluster analysis has been described in this paper. The algorithm efficiency will be tested in diploma works in Institute of Geodesy, Faculty of Civil Engineering, University of Technology, Brno. The results will be used in the application for cartograms creation.

TitleAN EVALUATION OF USABILITY OF RTK GPS TECHNIQUE AS METHOD OF DETAILED SURVEYING
AutorTadeusz Gargula, Ilona Lis, Beata Tatara
Pages47–59
Keywordsdetailed survey, method of RTK GPS
AbstractShow abstract
Evaluation of data accuracy of detailed survey from RTK GPS method using equipment GPS - GePos RM 24 of Carl Zeiss is the main goal of the paper. The results obtained have been analysed with comparison to measurements from classical, ground-based method using total-station. As the evaluation criteria following parameters were assumed: mean errors of points after transformation of coordinates from WGS’84 set to “1965” set, deviations of transformation for points of minor control and deviations of coordinates for situation details with reference to the same points determined by classical method. Data processing for both surveying methods was made by using the Geonet program.

TitleUSING THE CONCEPT OF ENTROPY IN THE DISPLACEMENT RESEARCH OF THE POINTS OF A HORIZONTAL GEODETIC NETWORK
AutorSławomir Gibowski
Pages61–70
Keywordsgeodetic network, entropy, information, reference system, displacement
AbstractShow abstract
The aim of objects monitoring, carried out by a geodetic method, is to get any information about the casual and effect relationships which occur around the examined object. Application of a suitable measuring technique requires setting an advantageous network structure, which has to meet both the condition of measuring economy and assure the suitable characteristics of the determined parameters accuracy. The advantageous network structure may be obtained on the basis of selecting observations which contain the largest information content. The measurement results of the chosen network elements and the application of suitable methods of results processing enables to apply a correct identification of points of a reference system, and as a consequence, it also enables to define a correct model of the displacement. The process of setting an advantageous linear network structure on the basis of entropy of an observational system was presented in the paper.

TitleThe use of GPS/IMU for integrated and direct orientation of aerial images
AutorVlastimil Hanzl, Josef Podstavek
Pages71–77
KeywordsGPS/IMU, integrated orientation, direct orientation
AbstractShow abstract
The paper deals with the project GA 103/03/0102 “Integration of orientation systems and cameras in photogrammetry“. The navigation system Applanix was connected with metric aerial cameras RMK TOP 15, RMK TOP 30 and digital non-metric camera Hasselblad 555 ELD. These integrated systems were tested and calibrated on test field. Accuracy of orientation parameters were determined and various block configuration and number of ground control points were proved. The project confirmed some conclusions of the former OEEPE project. The use of direct orientation is not possible for stereoevaluation because the accuracy of rotation from inertial unit is not sufficient. The used system Differential GPS NovAtell and IMU Applanix POS AV 310 showed better accuracy then declarated one. Interior orientation parameters and additional parameters were not necessary to use for metric cameras. The use of GPS/IMU data in automatic aerotriangulation have saved the time of image measurements. The middle format digital cameras are suitable for small projects, but precise calibration is needed. Smaller oblong format of images makes worse geometry of the block. The overlap 70-80%, more number of images and more control points are recommended.

TitleCARTOGRAPHICAL POTENTIAL OF THE AIR VIDEO PICTURES
AutorGrzegorz Jóźków
Pages79–90
Keywordsvideo images, projective transformation, digitization
AbstractShow abstract
In this work was presented the possibility of usage of video images of terrain recorded during helicopter flight in map creation process. In practical part the cartometrical video images were created by projective transformation and few terrain details were digitized from both topographical map and video images. The measured width or lenght of those digitized objects were compared. The difference between distances on video images and topographical map was base for accuracy estimation and therefore the usefulness of this method was evaluated.

TitleUSING PHOTOMAP FOR CONSTRUCTING URBAN LAND INFORMATION SYSTEM BASED ON THE EXAMPLE OF PUSZCZYKOWO
AutorAndrzej Kijowski, Wojciech Mania
Pages91–97
KeywordsLIS, GIS, town, town management, protected areas
AbstractShow abstract
Contemporary remote sensing records, especially high-scale aerial photographs provide the most present data about the environment. This feature makes them indispensable for modern town management. Testing ground is a small town Puszczykowo located south of Poznań. Its specific localization near Wielkopolski National Park requires a special attention on problems related to the protection of natural environment of this area. The project of land information system based on the photomap at scale 1:2500 (2004) was proposed. The photomap is a main raster database related to geographical space. On this basis thematic vector layers were constructed, with special consideration of biologically active and protected areas. Each vector layer has its own text database, which is made for gathering of non-spatial data. Presented idea of land information system is an efficient tool for management and decision making. It makes environmental protection and utilization of town’s natural resources more effective and more environment-friendly according to sustainable development paradigm. Vital problem of LIS introduction, especially in small towns is a lack of economic and data resources, which are necessary for system initiation.
