The aim of contribution is twofold. First, the new asymptotic modelling method for the analysis of functionally graded multilayered two-phase composites (FGM) is for- mulated. Second, there is proposed an independent (n on asymptotic) modelling procedure which makes it possible to satisfy boundary conditions related to the asymptotic model. For the sake of simplicity considerations are restricted to problems described by scalar elliptic 2-nd order equations, e.g. to the stationary heat conduction problems, but the proposed modelling method can be also applied to investigations of many other problems in thermo- mechanics of microlayered FGM.

In the paper we consider plates reinforced by ribs. Assuming a periodic distribution of the ribs in the plate, an averaged model is being constructed. The method used here is not asymptotic. In the modelling equations a microstructure parameter remains (basic cell size). To test out the model, a case of free vibrations is being analyzed.

Results the investigation of length of submerged hydraulic jump are presented. Experiments were conducted on model taired construction with the outflow under the closure and with bottom stilling basins. Schema of investigated model and hydraulic parameters are typical for low head structures existing in the field. Measured length of hydraulic jump was compared with calculated according to different formulas. Relationships between nondimensional length of hydraulic jump λ0 = L0/h1 with hydraulic parameters of flow q, v1, Fr1 are calculated and compared with results of experiments. Increase the degree of submerged hydraulic jump reduces the length.

Abstract

The paper presents the results of comparative analysis of some chosen technical features of solid bricks made in past and nowadays. The investigations were carried out on seven representative objects. The obtained results can be helpful to determine ways of renovation of brick single-family buildings. The state of brick buildings is various – it changes from buildings in satisfying technical state to objects threatening the safety. The reasons of damage of the investigated buildings are mainly due to the features of the bricks and applied mortars as well as to the situation of the buildings in a terrain, to a climate or care to them. There were the most important features chosen to determine: volumetric and unit density, porosity, leakproofness, humidity, absorbability.
